HOW TO WEAR IT ?
On Youtube, you can watch lots videos showing how to wear and wrap a Thai pants.
Here some explanations for you:
Get into the Pants with the Linen cord on the back.
With your right hand pull all the material to one side and hold away from your body.
With your left hand on your belly, wide open fingers spread, keep holding the pants firmly.
Begin to fold the extra material by bringing your right hand toward your body on the left side, without moving the left hand.
Hold everything firmly on your stomach with the 2 hands, then you can come out the left hand and keep your right hand widely on top of everything.
Grab the linen cord with to tie, without letting anything slip.
The pants is in place, adjust to feel comfy if necessary.
Last step is to fold the excess fabric over the tied linen cord.
The first time could seem complicated to wear but when you know where placing your two hands on the perfect spot for you, it will be much easier for sure.
FISH PANTS HISTORY
Fish pants history started in Thailand in the late 19th Century.
Both men and women, used to wrap fabrics such as sarongs to cover the lower body.
It took several decades for Western style sewn trousers to make their way to the Siamese worker, including “Thai fisherman” where their name was derived.
The very first ones were sewn leggings and wrap and tuck waist.
The tied waist design of today with a cord is much easier to wear them.
Thai fisherman pants is a classic and timeless design.
